Tastings & Pairings at the 2023 Stratford Kiwanis Garlic Festival:
We look forward to offering our patrons a memorable Tastings & Pairings experience at the 2023 Stratford Kiwanis Garlic Festival.
These are ticketed sessions offered only on Saturday, September 9th from noon until 3:30 p.m. These sessions are designed to provide the participants with the opportunity to experience wonderful – and unique – pairings of beverages and foods in an intimate setting.
While each ingredient is delicious on its own, in combination, magic can happen!
Session leaders are Stratford Kiwanis Garlic Festival vendors who are leaders in their fields. They provide exciting pairing combinations and explain why these pairings 'work'. Tickets for these sessions cost $10 per person and will be offered online prior to the event. These sessions have limited space and last year they were heavily subscribed prior to the event!
Some program highlights from previous years
A perennial favorite is the pairing of Rheo Thompson Candies and Black Swan Brewing. Join this session to experience the interaction between the richness of chocolate and the carbonation of beer, complementing each other through aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel!
In 2019, Maelstrom Winery and Loco Fields Organics demonstrated how perfectly fresh ginger complements and supports the maple and spice characteristics in Maelstrom's cider.
In 2022, Junction 56 Distillery worked with The Flour Mill Food Shop, pairing flavored liqueurs with baked delicacies – with wonderful results!
Note to Vendors
Vendors interested in participating in these Pairings Sessions should register their intent with the Tastings and Pairings Coordinator: Don Scott at scodon17@gmail.com. The Stratford Kiwanis Garlic Festival will be offering 8 sessions on Saturday, September 9th. This schedule will only accommodate 16 vendors on a first-come, first-served basis.
